The "DUMB GAME" That Was Created By America's Finest Intellects

It kills me when I hear HATERS make comments like "what a dumb/stupid game American Football is". I starting playing football at the age of 8, and was fortunate to play it until I was 24. What people don't realize when they make such comments is that this game was created by a Yale Graduate named Walter Camp- The Father of American Football. The first organized game was played on November 6, 1869, with Rutgers University facing Princeton University. Shortly after that game, other Ivy League schools joined and perfected the rules and the science of the game, to making it one of the best games ever created. This great American tradition was created by America most prestigious Universities. The sport of American football itself was relatively new in 1892. Its roots stemmed from two sports, soccer and rugby, which had enjoyed long-time popularity in many nations of the world. It wasn't until the 1880s that a great rugby player from Yale, Walter Camp, pioneered rules changes that slowly transformed rugby into the new game of American Football.
