Social Media Has Redefined Narcissism

Social media has redefined narcissism for our culture. It has become a platform for people to share their lives and thoughts through visuals. Those visuals are often the photographs of a person that make them feel better about themselves. They are not narcissistic in nature, but rather, a way of building self-esteem and simply making yourself smile. This is why it is so difficult for me to wrap my head around the mentality of some people that allows them to hop on a person's IG, FB, page and criticize their post. This form of bullying is so unnecessary. You choose to follow a person's feed, so why bother follow them if you are just going to try to tear down something they posted to try to boost themselves up?! Like my momma bird used to say, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
